Finally news from Germany

Hello everyone!

Again a long time since we've posted, but finally some news from Germany. The evening after Joost received his PhD we had a good bye party in Potch.

It was kind of strange, since we were happy that Joost received his title, but on the other hand knowing that we had to say goodbye to our friends (the picture on special request of Debbie :-) ).

We flew on saturday night and on sunday our friends and family were there for a real dutch braai (cloudy weather and patties).

In the following week things went pretty fast: We moved to Germany and Joost started working at VW on the 1st of June (which he is enjoying a lot!!!). Since then time has gone fast, but some things take their time, even in Europe. We don't have internet access yet (that's the excuse for not posting lately).

We already miss South Africa a lot. We're planning on doing the Ottertrail in May next year (someone wants to join us??), and combine it with a visit to Potch.

Anita is still between jobs, but she has a great offer from an Aids-project in a city nearby. It is part-time, so she is also looking for something else additionally.

On the sport-side of live: We both start in a race of the German Triathlon League next weekend (the 8th) and Joost plans to do the Almere Triathlon. We both also entered for the Berlin Marathon at the end of September, and for the long-run: Ironman Wisconsin 2008! (keep a bed for us prepared Mike!)

Take care, and really hope to see all of you soon.........

Anita and Joost, if you will be in Madison for the Ironman, let's get together! I'm here in the Mad City, too, and would very much love to enjoy time with you both. My door is open...

The Olson's in Iowa will also be there to cheer you on and will celebrate with you. It would be great if you brought your parents along to see you perform and parts of the USA.
